You'll have a thoughtful chat about your child with a professional interviewer
We edit the recording into a beautifully produced episode.
This annual interview helps you capture your thoughts and feelings about your child — and we make that process easy, by taking on all of the work. It feels like catching up with an old friend, and you can be confident that our editors will craft the recording into an amazing episode.
Interviews last half an hour (we schedule for 45 minutes, so that nobody feels rushed) and take place remotely, over the computer or phone.
ONCE A MONTH
Your interviewer sends you a personalized prompt
You’ll receive it by text message and answer with a short voice note (add photos, too).
What are monthly prompts like?
We get you talking about things like developmental milestones, summer vacations, Halloween costumes, and family traditions. Sometimes we’ll even ask you to record them singing their favorite song, or to capture yourself reading that book they love for the 80th bedtime in a row....

Who asks the questions?
Our interviewers are predominantly moonlighting journalists whose work has appeared everywhere from national publications to local airwaves. Others come from the fields of comedy and entertainment. If you have specific questions or topics you’d like us to discuss, you’ll be invited to provide as much guidance as you like after purchasing your Artifact.
How do I prep for an interview?
When you schedule your interview, you'll answer a few basic pre-interview questions. It can also be helpful to look through some photos from the period of time you'll be speaking about. Otherwise, find a quiet spot with good WIFI or telephone signal. Then, just relax — you're about to have a lot of fun!
What if I want Artifact to record with people who aren't all that tech-savvy?
When inviting guests, you’ll have the opportunity to assign a “helper” who will take care of scheduling the guest’s interviews. The “helper” can be you or anyone else with an email address. This is a great way to get less tech-savvy folks or children set up with Artifact!
Life happens — what if I need to reschedule?
Guests are free to reschedule up to 24 hours before an interview. If a guest reschedules within 24 hours, we charge a $20 fee — 100% of which goes to the interviewer, in order to compensate them for having reserved the time on their calendar. Interviews must be completed within 365 days from purchase.
